About Us
Our Ethos and Objective
The Little Star ethos is one of fun, security and inclusiveness. Our objective is make sure that every child leaves Little Star Playschool well prepared for the road of learning that lies ahead. Play is the central part of our Little Stars’ development and is utilized to enhance their social, intellectual, emotional, physical and creative growth.
Our teaching staff do their utmost to ensure each child is receiving the stimulation and attention they need based on who they are. We focus on rounded development of the children including social, educational and physical development.
Little Star is non-sectarian but is built on a foundation of good moral values. We celebrate and teach about all of the religious occasions of our children.
Our Little Star Playschool Calendar
Little Star Playschool strives to follow the Western Cape Dept. of Education annual calendar.
In some cases, we do slightly adjust the term dates to suit operational requirements (such as new Little Stars intake). This will always be communicated to parents well in advance.

Meet the Staff
All of our teaching staff are qualified to the appropriate levels and receive regular training. Teachers have a minimum ECD NQF Level 4. All of our staff are first aid certified and retrain regularly.
We have a head teacher who is responsible for quality of curriculum, teaching and children’s well-being across the school.
Within each class there is a dedicated teacher and teaching assistant. Their responsibility is to ensure a fun-filled day of playing, learning and exploring for the children. They are dedicated to getting to know each child as an individual and ensuring they all get the most out of their time at Little Star.
